Lux on Central is adequately named. It's a hotspot. It's one of those places that people like to go to partially just to be surrounded by the eclectic and exceedingly beautiful crowd it attracts. "lux" and "central" are two words that perfectly describe this coffee shop.
They attract an incredibly diverse crowd of lots of different ages and interests. Including projecting sports games onto a screen in a large back room. It really rounds out the type of people you could possibly meet here.
Lux does the laid-back hipster thing well. Plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for hanging out with friends and such.
As you walk in, the first thing you notice is the array of tempting convections. And so many choices that it's almost impossible not to chose something while you wait in line.
They also have a bar that serves crrrrrazy good cocktails! (so good. so. good.) One of the things I love about this place is the bowls of fresh fruit that are everywhere. They make the entire place feel luxurious. I would like to mention again that while the coffee drinks are great, their cocktails are among the best I've had anywhere.
Clutch mac and cheese is only $5 here, which really is a necessity for drinking so much alcohol and caffeine. It's so nice to have a hardier option. They also have amazing burgers, steaks and other things while still maintaining a coffee shop vibe. How they did it, I have no idea.
