Ventnor Coffee - Ventnor, NJ

oustide of Ventnor Coffee
Relatively new, Ventnor Coffee is a heavily themed coffee shop. Their space is set up specifically to be a venue, complete with stage and giant LED guitar. The shop is, I think, intended to be more of a beach bar type vibe with lots of fun, almost random decorations and art. I think it really works well for the area.

As a whole, the AC/Ventnor/Margate's coffee shop scene has always been a little lacking, I'm sure in part because the city's economy is seasonal. I think Ventnor Coffee makes a good addition.

I will say that this isn't necessarily my vibe. I didn't find their menu particularly informative in terms of where their coffee came from. I had their Breakfast Blend, which was honestly not bad, but I wish the menu had been clearer about the roasts. I did think it was interesting that they mentioned the caffeine content of each blend. I see the merits and I think that the shop has a lot of great characteristics but I think it serves as a different market than I would find myself in. I don't think this shop is intended to be for coffee snobs or social justice consumers or delicate hipster types. It's a gathering place for the Ventnor community.

I would absolutely go back. But part of that is probably due to the fact that there aren't many shops like this in the area and I always choose mom&pop over the chains. All in all, I'm pretty neutral about this place because I don't think that I'm necessarily the target market so my judgement is neither here nor there.
